FOMS ~ Friends of Makaraka School

FOMS (Friends of Makaraka) The Friends of Makaraka School are a group of interested parents who work together to support the school and students in a variety of ways. Projects have included fundraising for the Bike Track, Covered Turf and speaker system, ICT, swimming pool refurbishment, TV's, School Camp and Activity contributions. FOMs also help with community activities such as sausage sizzles and the end of year Christmas Party.

One of their goals is to encourage as many other parents as possible to join the group for their monthly meetings and become involved in the activities that the group organises during the school year.

Although fundraising is an aspect of their role, FOMS see the role of initiating activities that draw the school community together and making sure that new families to the school and community are welcomed and informed being of equal importance.

Fresh ideas are always welcome. FOMS meet regularly at the school or other venues depending on the agenda for the meeting. They are continually looking for new members to join this positive and supportive group.
